1. To encourage people in saving; to collect scattered small savings through national saving schemes and to satisfy national budget deficit with the collected money,

 

2. To boost national savings through encouraging marginal people in saving,

 

3. To bring special populace of the country e.g., women, retired government employees, senior citizens, Bangladeshi expatriates, physically disabled and behindhand people of the society etc. under financial and social safety net through National Savings Schemes,

 

4. To reduce foreign dependence and support in controlling inflation etc.
